I made it home alive to post pictures so I'm quite excited about that! It happened fast.... Julie and I (also known at work as "the bookends") parted ways. She went south to Dallas, TX and I headed east to Wisconsin. We left Sunday morning from Eastern Oregon and met up in Salt Lake City, and that's where we hugged goodbye. I drove to Laramie, WY and stayed the night there after getting caught in 2 snow storms (and not to mention, my gas light was on)...... I was so frazzled once I got to the hotel that I'm sure my hair looked permed! So the next morning we left, and it took 15 hours to get home. Boy, were they surprised!!! I love to surprise people just as much as I love to be surprised.... as long as it's good! The next morning Dad took the "boys" for a walk and swim in the pond. Us three girls stayed in the house peeking out the window as dad was practically skipping down the road. An absolute comic to watch the three dogs walk dad. It feels good to be home right now, and it'll be good for me. I can't wait to show Bink all the places that I love here. As I float in the pond, Bink can swim besides me... we can run on the beach together...... walk out to the lighthouse.... Now I'm just waiting for the sun to start shining! As far as unpacking my car..... that will have to wait! Thanks again Waldos and Diane :) Miss you all ~hugs~
p.s- for those of you who are wondering, I'm done twiddling my thumbs :)
Dear Rachel, Since when does a little ole snow-storm stop Miss Rachel, when she's got places to go!I seem to remember a certain miss with her thumb out hitchin a ride during a BLINDING snow-storm in December.I can only imagine those poor folks on the disabled greyhound,as they watched this intrepid young lady go on her merry way with a nice couple from Utah! We are so glad you are settling into life at home{no place like it}and look forward to keeping up-dated. Our love, The Waldos
Sorry we missed sayin' goodbye to ya. Sounds like you're back and enjoyin' your roots. I tell ya, I know the feeling of bein' gone from home a while and returning....might just be one of the best feelings in the world. Mixture of emotions, but it always feels good ta be home!
We'll miss ya out this way, though - happy trails, Rach!

Is going home as good as I'm hoping it is?
